Family Alignment

Relationships matter, especially the ways in which infants and young children are communicated with by their parents. Too often, parents are overwhelmed and unaware of how their communication (verbal and non-verbal) is experienced by their child. These interactions between parents and very young children shape the structure and the function of the brain and develop into long term mechanisms of personality and adaptations to intimacy and stress. My passion lies in supporting families as they transition into and through parenting by offering education, coaching, and therapeutic support. Most of the time, when we get down to it, the problems that exist in family life are the result of our own early experiences and the resulting personality traits and adaptations to stress we have created to make it through. Because these early experiences are recorded in the cells of our unconscious, I use the body as a mechanism for making contact with and healing the stresses that happened long ago and were reinforced over the life span. This early inter-relational trauma shows up in everyday living through patterns of:

  • Communication
  • Intimate Relationships
  • Self Care
  • Work
  • Motivation
  • Self Esteem

My intention is to help you understand how your present day complaints have been influenced by your early experiences and then move on - not to rehash the details of an otherwise unpleasant memory. This is beneficial to us in adulthood and crucial for preventing the same types of stressors from occurring as we care for children. Once we understand the ways in which you are relating to your children, your partner, your self, and your life, we can move forward in developing more appropriate ways of relating in the world. All of this is better explained and fully embodied throughout the therapeutic consultations we share together. The various services I offer serve to meet a client's needs exactly where they are in present day life; the depth in which we explore your patterns of behavior is completely up to you!
